What is there to do in Fátima? Is Fátima worth visiting?

First, a short piece of history

The history of Fátima is closely linked to the apparitions of the Virgin Mary to three shepherd children: Lucia dos Santos and her cousins Francisco and Jacinta Marto. The apparitions began on May 13, 1917, and continued until October of that year. Mary appeared to the children and shared important messages and prophecies with them.

One of the most well-known aspects was the secrecy of three parts of a vision shown to the children. These secrets later became known as the Secrets of Fátima and generated significant curiosity. The third secret, revealed in 2000, included references to the persecution of Christians and the assassination attempt on Pope John Paul II.
