In the area you’ll find countless beautiful bike rides. To make things as easy as possible for you, we’ve divided our recommendations into three categories:

Good to know
🚴♀️ Choose the right bike and gears: Central Portugal is rarely flat. Make sure you have a bike with enough gears and well-adjusted brakes.
🌞 Ride early or later in the day:
The Portuguese sun can be strong, even in spring and autumn. Avoid the midday heat (12:00–16:00)
🧤 Ensure comfort and safety: A helmet is mandatory in Portugal.
🧃 Pack some snacks and water: Many cycling routes go through quiet countryside, where cafés can be few and far between.
